COURSE MAPS
Note: The swim course will be marked with several large orange buoys and turnaround points will be in bright yellow. We have 10 lifeguards, several kayaks and pontoon boats to support you.
Here is the breakdown of Swim Waves from 2009 (subject to change for 2010):
WAVE 1 - 1/3 Iron Men, Clydesdales, All Male Relay Teams, Co-Ed Relay Teams
WAVE 2- 1/3 Iron Women, Athenas, All Female Relay Teams
WAVE 3- Sprint Men U-34
WAVE 4- Sprint Men 35 and Up, Clydesdales, All Male Relay Teams, Co-Ed Relay Teams
WAVE 5- Sprint Women U-34, All Female Relay Teams
WAVE 6- Sprint Women 35 and Up, Athenas
The bike course is well marked with mile markers every 3 miles, all turns are marked with neon pink markings on the pavement, orange arrow signs on posts will mark turns. Additionally, course will be marked with Orange and Black traffic warning signs for traffic. Course is open to the general public traffic. Stay to the right and pass when safe. There will be one water bottle and Gatorade bottle distribution point at the midway point of the 1/3 Iron course.
Run course is mostly isolated from traffic. Will be marked at every mile and 1 mile and 1/2 mile from the finish. Pink spray chalk will mark the path. There will be 4 aid stations on the run course serving water and Gatorade.
